You can configure Teams to auto-start up in the background when you first turn on your surface pro (or classroom desktop) instead of suddenly popping up (a danger if you’re also connected to the TV/smartboard).
In Teams, go to the 3 dots in the top right:
Click Settings, make sure you're on the General tab:
Scroll down to the Application section and then tick Open application in background.
